SHARON BARRETT, CLERK 2018 - 2022Top of Page

Sharon Barrett
Sharon Barrett began her service to Red Bluff Elementary School District in 1975 teaching at Bidwell Elementary. Over the next 38 years, she subsequently taught at all four sites in the District and spent a year as the District Mathematics Coach. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University, Chico, and a Masters in Mathematics Education from Nova Southeastern University, as well as two Life Teaching Credentials. After retirement in 2013, she took a year off before running and being elected to the Governing Board of RBUESD in 2014. At her first Board meeting, she was elected President of the Board and served in the role until December 2018. She has completed the Masters in Governance program through the California School Board Association. Serving on the Governing Board allows her to continue her over 40 year commitment to education and to the children and staff of the Red Bluff Elementary School District.  You can contract Ms. Barrett at sbarrett@rbuesd.org.
 
 
 
 

STEVE PIFFERO, PRESIDENT 2018 - 2022Top of Page

Steve Piffero
Mr. Steven Piffero is a native of California who grew up in the Salinas Valley.   He attended North Salinas High School, then Hartnell College before transferring to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.   He graduated with a degree in Crop Science and minor in U.S. History.   He also earned his teaching credential in Agricultural Education and a California Community College teaching credential in Agricultural Service and Processing.   He started his career as an Agricultural Educator in Selma, and then moved to Red Bluff to continue teaching Agriculture.   Soon after his arrival to Red Bluff he transferred to the Social Science Department.  Mr. Piffero finished his career teaching Social Science coursework in the Independent Study department.
 
He is married to Mrs. Catherine Piffero who is a Kindergarten teacher at Jackson Heights Elementary School.   They have two children, a son and a daughter, both alumni of the Red Bluff Elementary school system.   Benjamin is a 2003 Red Bluff High graduate and he is married to his wife Jessica.   He is a graduate of Fresno State University.   Elizabeth a 2006 graduate of Red Bluff High, she is married to her husband.   She is a graduate of Chico State University; they had his first grandchild this year.
 
Steven is a member of the National Education Association Resolutions Policy Committee.  He serves on the California Teachers Association’s State Council Elections and Credentials Committee, which meets four times yearly in Los Angeles.   He is now serving as the Past President of the Red Bluff Union High Teachers Association.

Heidi Ackley
Heidi Kerber Ackley, a retired teacher is a life-long resident of Red Bluff.  She is married to Steve Ackley and they are the parents of 3 children and grandparents of 3 grandsons.  She is a graduate of Red Bluff High School and CSU Chico earning degrees in Economics and Business Marketing.  Mrs. Ackley received her teaching credential through Simpson University and was employed for 24 years as a teacher in the Red Bluff Elementary School District.  She currently continues her work as a math teacher providing professional development as a Teacher Leader for CPM College Preparatory Mathematics.  Mrs. Ackley can be reached HERE.

Adriana Griffin
Adriana Griffin has been a Red Bluff Union Elementary School District Board Member since 2012. She has two boys in the district who attend Vista Preparatory Academy and Jackson Heights Elementary. Adriana is a recent graduate from California State University, Chico with a BS in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management and a minor in Psychology. Adriana is proud of the progress she has seen in RBUESD since moving to Red Bluff in 2011 and of the education her boys have received. She looks forward to seeing the district accomplish all that it can by providing the best possible education for all children.
